How ChippyTips works
ChippyTips is a free tipping site for you and your mates. Pick sides against the spread, at the moneyline price or straight up, keep the line you tipped at, and let the ladder settle the arguments.
Tipping in three steps
1. Pick your side
Tip against the spread, at the moneyline price, or straight up. Each league chooses how it scores, and whether whole lines are allowed or every line is a half point.
2. Lock it in
Your tip keeps the line and price it was made at, even if the market moves before the game starts. Each game locks at its own start time, so a late game is still open after the early ones have begun.
3. Climb the ladder
Points are counted in nuts. On the moneyline a win pays the profit at the price you took and a loss costs one nut. The ladder updates as results come in, round by round.
Sports and leagues
ChippyTips covers the NFL, college football, the NBA, NHL and MLB, with more competitions added over time. Once your account is switched on you can start a league, set the rules and invite mates with a link. New accounts are switched on by hand while ChippyTips is in its early days.
More than tipping
- Scoreboard: live scores, box scores and lines for every game, with a page for each match.
- Prop Nuts: a weekly game where you call More or Less on player numbers, such as passing yards or points, with its own leaderboard.
- Live tracking: picks that are in play show progress against the line as the game goes.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. ChippyTips is free to play. There is no real money involved and nothing to deposit.
Do I need a password?
No. Enter your email and we send you a login link and a code. You can set a password later if you prefer.
What is a nut?
The unit ChippyTips scores in. Your total in nuts decides your place on the ladder.
Can I run my own league?
Yes, once your account is switched on. Create a league, choose spread, moneyline or straight-up scoring, and share the invite link with your group.
